Goal of the workshop

The workshop seeks to promote collaboration between software practitioners and researchers to share recent research industrial experiences and research advancements in digital accessibility, with a focus on inclusive service and process engineering that supports equitable access for all users.

The goal of this workshop is to foster collaboration between researchers and practitioners to advance the creation and development of accessible and user-centered digital environments, ensuring that inclusivity is embedded into the foundation of emerging software and service systems.

Workshop theme

In recent years, process and service engineering has emerged as a dynamic area of research and innovation, driven by the rapid adoption of cloud-based infrastructures and the outsourcing of business processes by organizations of all sizes. While these technological shifts have improved scalability and efficiency, they have also introduced complex challenge —particularly in ensuring security, reliability, and digital accessibility across distributed systems.

As digital platforms become central to education, business, and daily life, it is essential that they remain inclusive and accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities. This workshop focuses on advancing methodologies, frameworks, and best practices that integrate accessibility, security, and trust from the earliest stages of system design. By fostering collaboration among researchers and practitioners, the workshop aims to promote the creation of equitable, user centered, and accessible digital ecosystems that align with global standards and emerging technologies.

Scope of the workshop

This workshop brings together researchers, practitioners, and industry professionals from around the world to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and innovations in digital accessibility within software, service, and process engineering. As digital technologies become increasingly integral to education, business, and public life, ensuring that systems, platforms, and services are accessible, inclusive, and equitable for all users including those with disabilities-has become a fundamental requirement of modern computing.

The workshop invites contributions addressing both theoretical and practical aspects of accessibility in the design, development, and evaluation of digital systems. Topics include accessibility aware methodologies, standards compliance, assistive technologies, user experience (UX) design, and accessibility testing and automation. We also encourage discussions on policy, ethics, and the integration of accessibility into organizational workflows and software engineering life cycles.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Accessibility in software and service engineering
  • Inclusive design principles and frameworks for existing digital systems
  • Universal design principles and frameworks for new developed digital systems
  • Accessibility in cloud-based and mobile applications
  • Accessibility testing, validation, and evaluation tools
  • Integration of accessibility in development life cycles (DevOps, Agile, etc.)
  • AI-driven solutions for improving digital accessibility
  • Accessibility standards, compliance, and policy implementation (e.g., WCAG, Section 508)
  • Accessible data visualization and user interfaces
  • Assistive technologies and adaptive user interfaces
  • Accessibility challenges in education, business, and public services
  • Measuring accessibility impact and user satisfaction
  • Accessibility and usability co-design methodologies
