COMPSAC 2017 Symposia Organizers

Symposium Co-Chairs foster the development of a strong technical program for their community as an integral part of the main conference. Symposium Co-Chairs work with the main conference Program Chairs-in-Chief, and coordinate/collaborate with other symposia Co-Chairs, to help build a high-quality overall technical program. Symposia Co-Chairs are responsible for promoting the conference in general and their symposia in particular, to their own technical communities. They are also responsible for recruiting submissions and speakers that will attract members of their community to the conference. Co-Chairs are also responsible for organizing a volunteer team that will ensure the quality of their symposia by overseeing reviewers and the review processes related to their symposia.

COMPSAC Resources

The COMPSAC Advisory Committee serves as the governing board of the conference series to establish long-range strategic directions, build professional communities, appoint and remove chairs and members of other committees, appoint and remove general chairs and program chairs, and select conference locations and venues. Members of the Advisory Committee serve by invitation of the chair, without term limitation. Some members (and/or other volunteers) serve as Advisory Committee Symposia Liaisons to assist Symposia Co-Chairs to carry out their responsibilities.

Steering Committee members are experienced COMPSAC volunteers who have served as senior organizers in previous conferences, who participate formally or in an ad hoc fashion in the activities of the current year’s conference. Steering Committee members are called upon by COMPSAC Organizers to assist in a variety of tactical and strategic operations, activities, and events.
